Formulas used to calculate species abundance and diversity?

ants:9
pill bugs:4
grasshoppers:1
spiders:1

What formulas would i use to calculate the abundance and the diversity of the population?
When i looked it up, i found multiple formulas, but i dont know which one to use.

I think you should read up on the basics of statistics. The sample you mention is far to small to use with any sort of formula. You need hundreds or even thousands of Specific insects before you can start to construct a meaningful formula for distribution.
