I want quick helpHi
how are you every one? I have a question and I was searched for it in the internet, but I did not found a convincing answer. The question is: Why the Cell wall of the plants, resembles reinforced concrete? please help me
Re: I want quick helpThe steel rods or bars in concrete resemble cellulose fibrils of plant cell walls whereas the cement represents pectin and (I guess) hemicellulose.
picture on this page http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/cells/plants/cellwall.html might explain it visually

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
Re: I want quick helpThe cell wall of plant cells is strong and resembles reinforced concrete to withstand the turgor pressure of the cells.
Turgor pressure is very important to support and maintain shape.
Re: I want quick helpit is there so as to resist pressure from the cells
