There may be ways telepathy is possible with future technological advancements and discoveries in quantum physics, but I don't believe telepathy is possible within the confines of biological organisms.

There have been 107,602,707,791* people that have walked the Earth, and that's not including earlier Homo sp. About 50% of those people lived in the last 100 years, when scientific method has improved significantly. 50,000,000,000 people and no irrefutable evidence of telepathy? I find this quite compelling evidence that telepathy is not currently possible (although telepathy may just be another unfalsifiable hypothesis).
