Biology Homework Help!!Need help with this genetics question! Can someone explain how to go through each step? I know the answer to (a), but all the rest I'm not sure of. Thank you!
A pure-breeding variety of pea plant called Blue Persian produces a tall plant with blue seeds. A second pure-breeding variety of pea plant called Spanish Dwarf produces a short plant with white seeds. The two varieties are crossed, and the resulting seeds are collected. They are all white, and when they are planted all of the resulting plants are tall. The tall F1 -plants are allowed to self fertilize, and 500 progeny seeds are collected and planted. (a) which phenotypes are dominant, which are recessive? (b) what is the genotype of the PBP and the SD plants? What is the genotype of the F1 plants? (c) in the F2 generation, how many progeny are expected to have a blue seed and produce a short plant? How many are expected to have a white seed and produce a tall plant? (d) If you randomly select one F2 seed, what is the probabilty that it will be white and produce a short plant?
