Is it possible to measur muscel contractions at home?

I want to do a litte projekt from my home where i continually measure the activity in some small superficial muscles. I would like to be able to get the result on the computer to see WHEN and HOW MUCH the muscels have contracted. My question is if there are any devices that private people can by to do something like this or if it takes expencive advanced equipment to monitor the muscels?

Any help is much appreciated.
