maternal mRNA in developmentModerator: BioTeam

maternal mRNA in developmentI am working on a study guide for my biological mechanisms class and came across this question:
From what I could find on the internet, maternal mRNA seems to be pretty important during human oocyte development, regulating many different aspects of the cell. I've been having trouble finding anything about maternal mRNA in beans (or plants) though. Our book also has nothing about in maternal mRNA in the development chapters; professor is fond of questions that do not derive from the book (they're good critical thinking questions though!). But there must be a trick to this question that I'm missing; perhaps maternal mRNA is not present or important in plant development? Anyway information would be helpful. Thanks! Re: maternal mRNA in developmentThat's probably the trick then. I couldn't find anything about maternal mRNA in plants and I've never heard of such a thing either. So he's probably expecting us to pick up on that, so the answer must be D. He writes very tricky tests but it forces you to know the material very well.
