Forgetting iodine when gram stainingIf we forget to do the iodine step for example when doing gram staining, provided that the microorganism we have is gram positive, what will the colour of the stained microorganism in this case be? Will it be with NO colour or will it be pink-red (the colour of the gram negative)? Why is that?
Thanks.
What is the role of iodine? (look it up)
What does the secondary coloration do? How discriminant is it? Patrick
