Jobs in GeneticsI want to do science for the rest of my life but when most people think of science in my country its normally related to medicine but i think genetics is a promising field that not many people know of and enter but what is the salary of people who work in genetics and how long do you have to study
Ohh also can you get your doctorate if you are a genetic engineer.
You should look for local Universities in your country, how many you have and what are the options. Of course there is always the possibility to get abroad, either for post-doc, doctoral or even bachelor studies.

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
yeah i want to go abroad cause in jamaica there is one university for science and it is mainly good for med there med programme is in 5 YEARS but genetics it wouldnt be the best so i looking to go america or Europe
where genetics is more in demand
Much more opportunity in USA for genetics these days - but its not an easy ride. Like everywhere, the best jobs are often offered to the citizens of the country. That said, if you work hard and are not distracted by alternative careers with silly salaries (music, sport, medicine, banking etc), then you can make good money. But i think most of my former colleagues would agree, if you take the doctoral route, their is little time for outside interests other than keeping fit. And don't be surprised if your family life is a mess.
