Help w/ interpretatiobn of a nice article ? Deep Phylogeny

This article seems to be touching on things I've been trying to "put my finger on"...but I'm not sure.

Anyhow, if you like it, please leave a note on what you thought was good and what it means !

I'm working on giving better questions, too...

It's a decent historical review of major taxonomic distinctions that aren't necessarily as universally accepted as the article suggests.

I thought so too, and the particular interests are what I'm going to pursue a bit further. I might have some specific questions when I am stuck
