Postby JackGruff » Sun Sep 11, 2011 10:58 am

Hi Everyone,

Could you guys help me identify this growth? Or perhaps lead me in the right direction in finding out?

I found it growing underwater.

Alrazi, how did you identify it as a Chara? I would like to know please.
My guess was a Chlorophyte (green alga).

Chlorophytes are usually unicellular, whereas charophytes can form colonies, or multicellular bodies, with usually multinucleate filaments. So I would agree with alzari and say it is probably a charophyte.
