Help in identifying growthHi Everyone,
Could you guys help me identify this growth? Or perhaps lead me in the right direction in finding out? I found it growing underwater. Links: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/41236265/P1170698.JPG http://dl.dropbox.com/u/41236265/P1170699.JPG Thanks in advance. -Gruff
Re: Help in identifying growthu say that grows underwater than i m sure it is chara a member of familly characeae
Re: Help in identifying growth
Alrazi, how did you identify it as a Chara? I would like to know please. My guess was a Chlorophyte (green alga).
Re: Help in identifying growth
Chlorophytes are usually unicellular, whereas charophytes can form colonies, or multicellular bodies, with usually multinucleate filaments. So I would agree with alzari and say it is probably a charophyte.
