What is this juvenile mammal?I found this critter in SE Utah in the sandstone slickrock desert. It looks much like a baby squirrel but is far too big.

the quality of picture is not great, but from this I would guess some squirrel or chipmunk as well.

Re: What is this juvenile mammal?My biologist friend says it looks most like the endangered Utah white tail prairie dog (Cynomys leucurus), with the one problem that the tail seems a bit long. It was in Canyonlands N.P.
