What is this juvenile mammal?

I found this critter in SE Utah in the sandstone slickrock desert. It looks much like a baby squirrel but is far too big.

the quality of picture is not great, but from this I would guess some squirrel or chipmunk as well.
(however it seems to be still blind, right? And you're saying it's bigger than squirrel?)

My biologist friend says it looks most like the endangered Utah white tail prairie dog (Cynomys leucurus), with the one problem that the tail seems a bit long. It was in Canyonlands N.P.

I think so too that its a chipmunk/squirrel . It figures on his tail .
