What is antigens stimulate?

Hi Everybody.

Can anyone tell me, antigens stimulate the production of antibodies? If you have an any ideas please suggest to me. I am waiting for positive reply.

Briefly, B-cells have B-cell receptors on their surface that are essentially membrane-bound antibodies. When these receptors bind to an antigen, they initiate antibody production of the same specificity as the receptor. Thus, antigens stimulate antibody production.

In reality the whole process is very compelx requiring the antigen-specific activation of helper T-cells and a cytokine environment that promotes B-cell activation and antibody production. The helper T-cells, in turn, require that the antigen is presented to them by an antigen-presenting cell on its MHC molecule. Initially the APCs are often dendritic cells, but also B-cells themselves can present antigens and thus support their own activation.
