Dug-up unknown skull

While digging in our front garden today (we're repaving) I happened to find this odd thing that looks pretty much unmistakably like a skull.



I'm not sure as to which kind of animal it used to belong to, and a quick search on the internet did not provide any results. The skull is about 11 centimeters long, and has no teeth. I'm guessing this is because some of the skull is missing, there are jagged edges on both front ends. I'd not think too much about the cut that runs lengthwise over the nose, that's probably the spade's doing. We live in the Dutch town of Hardenberg, near the German border, if that's of any use...

Looks a lot like a small dog's pelvis. (Or some other similar quadruped.)

Well, I can easily see how it gives an impression of a skull on the first sight :)

Perhaps you find the skull as well if you dig bit more around the finding site!
