Bacterial Conjugation

Postby Quiksilver737 » Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:19 pm

Is it possible to observe bacterial conjugation with a light microscope using fluorescence labeling or some other method?

I have not been able to come up with a method. One idea I had was to label an anti E.coli Pili antibody, but I don't know if that would work.

If it is possible, can you tell me how?

Have a look at the supplementary material.
