coral plasticity definition

Hi everyone

at the moment i have an exam on coral coming up and i can't find a clear cut definition of coral plasticity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are lots of plasticity types, but the coral one seems to be about how, while a colony are all clones, there's a lot of variation among the individuals. That suggests a lot of gene expression variability - for some reason (probably because cnidaria are supposed to be "primitive"), that seems to surprise people.
