stem - branch : the differencethere must be differences between a stem end a branch. anyone ?
A stem could be any shoot, either the main primary shoot or one produced by growth of an axillary bud. A branch is always a shoot produced by growth of an axillary bud. Either could be above ground, such as the typical stem of a tomato plant, or below ground, such as rhizomes or corms.
