Hi all. My name is Andy, 38 years old - I live in Seattle.

I'm a "closet" biology lover. By that i mean, i never realized i had an interest in biology until i started studying it recently - it's quite fascinating.

I'm planning to enroll in school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, as such - I'll be learning quite a bit about biology. In preparation for this, i'm self-studying on basic biology. In the *very* short time i've been studying, i find it quite interesting. I have ADD so I tend to have a bit of a challenge in learning so many small, detailed pieces of information - i can learn but it can take me a bit longer depending on the specific material.

I find the best way for me to learn is to explore as many different sources of information as possible - to be exposed to different explanations of the same concept. As such, I signed up on this board to help utilize another resource for learning.

Hope to meet everyone on the boards!!!
~Andy

Hello everyone,

I'm a middle school student who will be going into 8th grade this fall. I was just researching on cells for an upcoming school project when I came across this forum! I am very much interested in biology - I plan to pursue a career related to medicine. However, I have not taken any biology courses in school yet, so for now I'm just trying to learn as much as I can on my own - please bear with me if I ever post questions that may have very obvious answers!

I can't wait to start increasing my knowledge in biology! :)

[*]Against the assault of laughter, nothing could stand.[*] Mark Twain

Wonderful site...wonderful way to help us all achieve...Just remember their some simple guidelines to Academic Success. For example, Academic Success is an oxymoron. The Real World is also an oxymoron. Go with your instincts, love yourself before all others. If you can truly learn to love yourself completely, you can learn to love everyone. Imagine if we all loved ourselves. What a different life we could live.

If you found what you truly love doing, stand up for yourself. And, always be willing to change your mind, if . be willing to change your mind. If it weren't for other humans. all my knowledge would be useless.
I would like to propose something very simple. I propose that you always work, ethically. Don't ignore the atrocities, that you witness. That is the balance at work, the least ethical you are, the more torment you will encounter.
Nature does not lie. Why do we have weather? To balance the sun's unequal heating of the Earth. Of course, the worse the weather, The more unequal the heating of the earth. For answers look inside first, You will be surprised how much you know.
Good Luck and Thank you,
bizz4ethix.
