Differance between Gene Modeling & Gene prediction..

I know about gene prediction .i read it from

Texas A&M University
But i am still confuse .i want valid differeance between gene prediction & modeling..i am still not clear about gene modeling...

Gene prediction is the prediction of the gene that give rise to the respective mRNA or protein.

Gene modeling is the construct of the model of that particular gene.

I want to know that their is any link between gene prediction & gene modeling??..Practically how gene modeling is used??

Thanks.I am now quite clear about this topic .But i want to ask one more thing.
For gene modeling we must have to do first gene prediction.
Is this sentence is right or not?
