help with Spider ID please

I found this spider Sept 20th will hiking in a shaded forest with ferns just outside of Victoria, BC, Canada. I walked though it's web and it almost land on me. It would estimate it's size to me about 1.5 inch diameter.

I've this to a few people that have been here their whole lives and it didn't look familiar to them. Can someone please ID it?

It's an orb weaver, but not sure what kind. Maybe a cat's-face? Do you have these in BC?
