importance of virologyis virology field now a days progressing? and what r its importance. if this field is progressing then why we r not studing it as a separate subject? most of universities tought it in microbiology.
Still very important and quite developed. HIV and a hepatitis are massive problems bringing lots of money in the field. And there is still a lot to understand and discover.
It is usually grouped in microbiology with bacteriology and parasitology, probably because it is easier that way to find someone to teach the subject. depending on your luck, the profs might be more interested in one of the 3 than the others, but there are quite a lot of virologist, and it should not be a problem to find someone competent in most university.
