What kind of insect is this?

Postby locksmith » Fri Jun 18, 2010 11:03 am

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so first of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dario Đurić, 23 years old and I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Strange thing happened last night when I came home. I walk into my apartment and there I see a strange and formidable creature hanging on the wall. I have never seen this species in my entire life, I think I have only seen it on television when there was documentary about jungle creatures and stuff. So to cut the story short, I want to know if anyone can tell me what kind od species is this, is it toxic or something? I don't know about you but it's not pleasent to sleep at night knowing that there is something like this lurking inside your home. :D

House centipede. Creepy but harmless, feed on insects.

As said above it is a house centipede. Most people misidentify it as a silverfish, which is actually a type of beetle.
