Growing TallerHi, I'm 19 this year and is at 172cm/ 5' 7.7"
I would really like to know if there's anything i can do to grow taller. How many years do i still have, by the way? Thanks in advance
Re: Growing TallerHi,
Here is a good reference for those height-savy teens: http://www.sosuave.net/forum/archive/in ... 87586.html My personal advice is to avoid any chemical routes to height increase unless it is absolutely essential and should it be done at all, it should be strictly by consultation with a qualified doctor. For instance a height of 5'7'' is a good average height and no medication should be tried in such cases. Basically the secret is to check if the bones are fused uasing X-ray of hand and until it is fused, take good vitamin, calcium and minerals rich natural food, do good exercise and leave the rest to the Mother Nature to decide. Good Luck and good height, Koyal
Re: Growing TallerHey,
Just a minute, while the teens keep trying everything on earth to increase their height and invariably end up to their natural limit, is it true to imagine all is right with tall guys? How do the tall guys think of themselves? Won't they find little odd in the company of people with average height? Instead of raising their head high and walk, often they may need to stoop down for daily transactions with others. They are also susceptible to more spinal and joint injuries compared to those with average height. May be, these be considered as sour grapes attitudes of shorter guys, but will be interesting to directly hear from the horse's mouth, any comments welcome. Koyal
Re: Growing Tallerheyyyy i am already 17 and my height is only 5'3''.What do i do?My elder sis is 5'8".She is 24 and is still growing taller. Will i also reach that height sumday?
Re: Growing TallerWell in this matter i would say that you eat good diet and do some stretching and Yoga postures would help you. Also some health tonics drinks like Complan can help. Calcium Sandoz and banana fruit will also help you.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Re: Growing TallerThe simple answer is that the best approach is to do nothing. There are hormones that make people grow bigger and taller, but they have highly undesirable side effects. If someone is diagnosed as being deficient in growth hormone, supplements are good, but this should begin long before reaching age 16 to 17.
Eating good food and getting exercise is definitely advised, but only for good health. It will not increase your height. When do you stop growing? This is enormously variable. Gals usually stop growing some years before the guys do. Personally, I was 5 foot 11.75 inches from age 16 to 20. I thought it was my lot. Then I measured again at age 22 and found I was 6 foot plus 0.25 inches. We are all different.
