Type ii restriction endonucleasesDoes anybody know how three different type ii restriction endonucleases can cut at the same sequence but at different points to yield three different set of products?
That's pretty simple. The ER can produce either blunt ends or sticky ends with either 5'- or 3'-overhang. Thus if you had sequence GAATTC you can have:
G...AATTC CTTAA...G GAA...TTC CTT...AAG GAATT...C C...TTAAG http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
