Postby isabelchris » Wed Apr 21, 2010 5:59 am

I am having trouble IDing my unknown. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. this is what I have:

Gram positive bacilli (Gram stain looks purple/black)
non-sporing
size = 1.0x2.00 um typical (up to 4.0 to 5.0 um some - gets shorter w/ age)
pallisading (prs or quads)
colonies = small, round, yellow/orange singular colonies, convex, shiny (slow growing _at_ 37*C)

methyl red = (w+)
VP = (-)
Catalase = (+)
Urea = (w+)
PYR hydrolysis = (-) yell/orange
Citrate = (-)
Indole = (-)
Nitrate = (+)
Bile esculin - (-)
Mannitol = (-)
ONPG = (-)
7% NaCl = (-) no growth

Not sure where to go from here. Please help!!! Bergey's Manual doesn't show much help. Also, any websites I can get info on or to better identify? Thanks.
