What are the two main parts of the cell cycle and is a sister chromatids the same thing as a homologous chromosome?

The cell cycle is G1 (Gap 1), S (Synthesis of DNA phase), G2 (Gap2), and M (splitting of the replicated DNA - mitosis). Main parts are the S (duplicating DNA) and M (splitting of the duplicated DNA).

Sister chromatids is not the same thing as homologous chromosome.

Sister chromatids is seen in mitosis, where you see the doubling of the one chromosome, and held together by a centromere (at which point in M - mitosis - will split apart, and each separate chromatid will go towards the centrioles/MTOC).

Homologous chromosome is the 'pairing' up of the maternal chromosome with the paternal chromosome, which is usually observed in meiosis 1.
