Why crave salt?Another question to ask is why do we crave salt? The other day I was craving for packets of crisps & ate 3 in one go!! I work in the lab for about 8 hours everyday and probably don't drink that much water during the day, could it be dehydration??
see body has a role to play it has maintain the internal environment in narrow limits
this is called the homeostasis i will answer your second questiopn first if you are dehydrated then the body has high water potential and it want's to reduce it so you will carve for water rather than salt and answering your second question when salts are lost from the body it carves for salt when you play a sport you sweat and loose salts. now when you were in the lab whole time it could have something to do with nervous system ain't sure about that. did you play any active sport that day? it isn't what you do that matters but it is how you do it
Re: Why crave salt?Hey, thanks for the reply. No, just walking around lab all day - always on my feet so probably the same as exercise
