Chardakov's... PLEASE HELP ME WITH OSMOSIS + DENSITYHello.
I really need help at the moment with my biology if thats okay. I accidentally missed the lesson due to having a form rep meeting, and my friends are really confused on osmosis too. I am really stuck on the Chardakovs method. Its when it comes to looking at the densities of the methylene blue drop against the sucrose solution. I know that if the methylene blue drop is denser than the sucrose solution it will sink, if it is the same it will stay stationary, and if it is less then it will float. But I dont know why this is in terms of membranes, osmosis, and that kind of stuff which I need to know to complete this coursework. I would really apprecaite it if anyone helped me, or got back to me. It would means loads :] Thankyou... Amanda

hi,
my question is what feature of the potato tissue can be determined by chardakov's method i would appreciate an answer, thank you sash
thank you so much, your help is greatly apprecieted
question; what three ways by which the chardakov's method could be modified to obtain a more accurate estimate of th water potential sash
other question, what is the reason for adding the drops of distilled water to original sucrose solution before realising the blue drops in them
sash
Can someone help me with the following questions please
1)what feature of the potato tissue can be determined by the density method 2)Ways by which the Chardakov's method could be modified to obtain more accurate estimate of the cell sap? 3) what was the reason for adding distilled water to the original sucrose solutions before releasing the blue drops in them thanks in advance
