characteristics of bone and blood tissue? Why are bone tissue (hard and rigid tissue) and blood tissue (fluid tissue) are classified in the same major tissue family?
and what are their characteristics that allow these tissue to perform their specialized functions? ... Help appreciated! Thanks!
Re: characteristics of bone and blood tissue?what's their family and what defines the family?

exactly as mith said
but if you don't know, it's connective. there is connective tissue proper, skeletal system, and blood and lymph. at least look that up; it will help you with your question.
as much as i've studied- bone tissue, cartilidge tissue & blood tissue come under special connective tissues. Bone and blood are both classified under the same family as both have a matrix & cells in the matrix. The only difference is that in blood, the matrix(plasma) is fluid and the rbc's,wbc's & platelets float in it; while in bones the matrix is made up of Ca & cellulose and the osteocytes(bone cells) are embedded in it.
They are both connective tissues as the bones run all over the body & protect the internal organs while blood traverses the entire body and helps in transport of substances between organs, tissues, cells etc.. Also blood/ RBC's are produced in the bone marrow... I hope the above information helps you..
