similarities between bacteria and humansModerator: BioTeam

similarities between bacteria and humansI'm suppose to come up with two significant similarities between humans and bacteria. I'm having a hard time because they are obviously so different. One is prokaryotic and the other eukaryotic. Hm...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Maybe you should first look at the very fundamental functions of a living cell: storing genetic information and utilizing it.
In what form is the information ("blueprints") of a bacterium or a human stored? How is this information used to generate building blocks of the organism? What are these organisms made of - what are the basic building blocks? An so on.
Re:
I don't think population dynamics of bacteria and human are the same. We can't replicate on our own like bacteria and bacterial interactions are much much simpler than in humans. To answer the question, maybe just look at the characteristics of life, I'm sure both organisms have all of those in common. ability to reproduce, reaction to stimuli, etc...
Re: Re:
Bacteria and humans are not too different: the numbers of both grow exponentially as long as there is enough food/resourves and free space :P
