Is it possible to get a Karyotype?

I am currently in college taking a cell biology course and I must say it is the coolest thing ever! We just learned about karyotypes of chromosomes and I was wondering if it is at all possible to get a karyotype of my chromosomes. I know they usually only do it for medical reasons, but does anyone know how much it would be or where I could get it done at? I think it would be the coolest thing ever, to be able to examine my own chromosomes!!! I know the price will be insane, but I’m prepared for that

Wow, what are the chances a Czech would respond! I live in Oregon and much of my family lives in Czech! 20,000 czk is about $1,100 US, about what I was expecting. I will be revisiting Czech this spring, I will have to check that out. Thank you for the reply.

Yeah I was 100% serious.
But I live in Portland Oregon in the United States of America...

But does anyone know?!?! I’m a male and I can’t get one from a doctor unless I’m pregnant. Where is there is lab that will do this?

It might be worth calling medical labs and asking directly - tell them you're a student and why you're asking.

If you have a graduate school with cell biologists, they might at least be able to point you in the right direction. Plus, if this might be a career direction, getting to know folks in the field can't hurt.

but u have to wait for one week to know the result as it take a long procedure. it in 12 steps and needed to be observed carefully so all the best enjoy!
