Now as far as superpowers. I do not understand where you are going with this. Do you mean like the superpowers that is portrayed in Marvel comic books? Or just the non-exciting superpowers that some people already have today? The olfactory development of a bloodhound in wine tasters and perfumers? Or empaths that can make you feel better instantly by taking your hand and talking to you? Or the amazing Guinness World Record people who can move trucks with their teeth? Or the other feats that are seen everyday. These are all physical attributes that are enhanced in some people, thru genetics and the right environments to support it.
Now, reasoning powers of the brain have yet to be elucidated on different realms. We again say that we only use so much of our brain because of our NMR tests and other mechanical machines used to detect activity. But again, these machines may be very elemental in testing the abilities of our brain matter. Please do not think we are only using 5% or 10% or even 25% of our brain just because we can't physically test all the realms yet.

I started studying biology two months ago. ”It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

Re:
I meant some middle ground. Things that we don't do already but might be able to develop, as you said, through genetics and the right environments to support it. What i had in mind was trying to discuss which of these "abilities" are possible to have somehow. For example: "Turning ourselves into rocks: impossible. Breathing underwater: if we sometime develop gills..." Think of something like that. Or if you think of a better idea, please share. ”It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

Virus: really? What class or school do you go to?
kolean: as junk DNA is usually refered that DNA, which does not code for proteins and seemed to have no function jwalin: look for siRNA, miRNA and all that stuff. From the human genome is transcribed vast majority, althrough only minor part codes for proteins. The rest has some regulatory function, which we do not understand exactlly yet. http://www.biolib.cz/en/main/
Cis or trans? That's what matters.
Re:
You sound shocked! ”It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”
~Charles Darwin
That would definitely count as an ability. What are you planning to do? Take a starfish's DNA and graft it into your own genome?

Re: Superhuman abilitiesimpossible just impossible if were in a zygote then maybe it isn't what you do that matters but it is how you do it
