multiple choice questionshello
first time here, hope someone help I encounter a biology m.c. question which has no answer, that is which career below is related to biology (1) Driver (2) Nurse (3) Farmer there are several choice I am quite sure that driver is not related biology and nurse is relating to it but I am not sure if farmer is related to biology or not
Re:
in fact i am a junior biology teacher that I encounter such kind of sucked questions which is hard to answer, everdyay
It is tough - I used to teach high school, and the standardized tests were written by people with very little understanding of the subject (and zero critical-thinking skills). We would not only get bad questions with multiple possible answers or no right answers, but questions that by themselves showed the writers had no idea what they were asking about. It can be very frustrating, and I never got a decent answer when I questioned the administrators about it.
Re:
today i encounter another sick biology question - "which of the following is a biological process but not a characteristics of living organisms?" A. Irritability B. Memory C. Excretion D. Observation I am pretty sure that A and C is not the answer but how about "Memory" and "Observation"?? Which one is "biological process" ??? In fact, I don't even understand what is it meant by "Biological process"?? I think it is a term with very unclear definition... =,= Another two question that is more sick Is it true that all organisms can reproduce? Is it true that all green plants are producer?
Wow! That's one bad multiple-choice question!
It's bad when you understand the concepts but you still have to guess what the writer thinks the right answer is. I'd guess "Observation" as a process that isn't a characteristic. And the true / false is very dependent on how precise the meanings are supposed to be: for the first, if it's every individual organism, it's not true; if it's every type of organism (whatever that might be), it's probably true. At least green = photosynthetic = producer, so that's pretty straightforward.
