Serial dilutions/antibiotic resistance!!!

What is the point of doing serial dilutions for antibiotic resistance? As of today, what has such experiment revealed about antibiotic resistance? What are some things not solved by such experiment and what are some things to do next with such topic?

It gets diluted
That some student are quite lazt in their research

The point is, that you will find out, which concentration is lethal for the microorganism and what conc. the organism can still live with ;)
