protein gel

Postby piefke » Wed Oct 28, 2009 12:13 pm

Hi everybody!

I want to check the cleavage of a protein. The fragments I expect are 54 kDa and 8 kDa...
8 kDa is very small :( Is it possible to see this small thing on a sds-gel???

Sure, why not? You just have to choose the right concentration of AA/BIS (maybe use gradient, to have good resolution at both 8 and 54 kDa;), use silver staining and maybe add a little bit more of protein to see it ;)
