Energy required in calorie to plants to synthesis proteins

Postby manojoak » Thu Oct 01, 2009 10:46 am

Dear All,

I would appreciate receiving an information how much energy in the form of calorie is required to synthesis one gram of protein, or one gram of starch or one gram of lipid by plants.

why only crop yields are increased by increasing starch content, why not protein and oil content?

with best regards

I do not totally understand to your last question, but I think, the point is, that the storage form of energy in crop is starch, not proteins (e.f. beans), not oils (řepka olejka :-P rapes)

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
