What would you not do as a biologist for national security
some psychologists helped in torturing for national security

would you make a human with gills for the navy
would you make a human with 6 arms for the army
would you make a 4 eyed human for the air force

are there no limits to what you will do for national security as a biologist
or
are there limits you want go beyound

Those things you mentioned might prove to be too challenging to achieve anywhere in the near future, buit if we manage to overcome the technological issues on the way, why not. If someone wants gills and we can make them, they can have their gills as far as I care. They don't even have to be in the navy...

Changes requiring fewer morphological changes (such as increased hormonal output) should be much easier to achieve, and we're likely to see them first. I suppose it takes way longer to see some major morphological changes in humans (or in more complex animals, such as mammals). Simply all the genetic control elements during embryonic and foetal stages probably make getting the process right very difficult - though this is not to say impossible.

Looking forward to see some more diversity among the human species!

i'm stealing this idea from a friend of mine who works in my lab

well in the future when we have better ability to link human minds with machines we could create the ultimate super-computer
we could selectively breed and artificially enhance people to have great thinkin abilities like savants, we can pump them full of sedatives and chemicals to keep them happy and stationary and hook their minds up to computers to process insane amounts of data, after 100 years the limbs of these people may not even fully develop so we will have to suspend them in tanks or in space because the gravity will crush their bodies

ahh, i can't go on any more hehe

Sounds like one of those spice-addicted Steersmen from Dune!
