Greenies RealiseHAH!
Greenies + Media = The end Comments and discussion. A wise man once said to me:

Media = full of crap
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

eh? Is there a news story that goes with this or something?
And - effects of climate change are region-specific. Some will have more rain, others less, some increase in temp, some decrease. Overall average temp - increase. What did the parasitic Candiru fish say when it finally found a host? - - "Urethra!!"
Agreed with Astus,: FZ you will see that it is a little more complicated than that, as Ben Goldacre would say. Some region will see increased rain fall, likely also much stronger (which is probably not a good thing), and other will see the weather getting dryer. Same thing with temperatures, that will not increase everywhere, nor everywhere as much.
I am at a microbiology meeting (CSM-SCM in Montreal) and one of the speaker (Ian PCC member) was talking about the fate of the peat bogs located in Canada and Russia and describing one little side effect of the change in climate: Peat bogs will probably be dryer (they are already seeing that) which will change the behaviour of bacterial community. As a consequence, that will increase the CO2 sink effect of the bogs (yeahhh) but alsos dramatically increase the release of methane in the atmosphere (methane has a shorter life span than CO2 but is also a better GHG) so not so yeahhh. Complicated interactions, and not making the predictions any easier. Patrick

Been away - but im back!
Sorry didn't explain very well. In western australia we lack so much in dramatic events, so whenever the news is running low on stories they revert to the good old "Global Warming Crisis". They began this after an inconvenient film(forgive) saying suddenly how our dam levels are so much lower, sprinkler rosters, artesian basin-- the works. Now, we are pretty lucky in perth, we have a nice little range about 40 km back from the coast which stops the clouds right where we want them, increased evaporation from the sea = increased rainfall for us, of course the media just happened to forget about that and then remembered again about a week ago when the 'drought' drama wasnt getting as many viewers. Sorry was only applying to my situation - feel sorry for our wheat belt though. BTW, Through my mocking of the media i do not promote the idea of arthropegenic global warming in any way whatsoever...ever, when we have been recording info for about 10,000 years then we can make some comparisons. I laugh at our(when i say "our" i ofcourse am not refering to myself or any other real scientist) predictions based on 80 odd years of recording. On a side note the Australian eastern states just(~15 days ago) reached the coldest temperature ever recorded... interesting. Edit: Please explain to me how increased amounts of infrared reflecting particles in our atmosphere decreases the temperature in some areas. A wise man once said to me:
