Good book to read

Postby jangajarn » Fri May 08, 2009 10:46 pm

Hey all,
Does anybody know a book (about biological science preferably) which can be read like a novel? Like a life story of a scientist, or some random ramblings of a scientist wondering about nature, or anything which one can read and get inspired/thrilled to do science. A good example would be "the Beautiful mind", which came as a movie later. You get to know how this guy suffered while working on his math and finally won the Nobel. Something like that which makes you inspires you to do science.
Thanks!

Here's a few of my favorites:

Rocks of Ages by Stephen J. Gould
Finding Darwin's God by Kenneth Miller
The Universe in a Nuthshell by Stephen Hawking (not bio but still worth the read!)
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

I haven't finished reading the Evolution of Jane by Kathleen Schine, it's fictional actually with some twist of evolution concepts; it's a story about two best friends actually who stopped being friends for no definite reason.
