Classes of proteins within the cell membrane of neurons

Postby exploringthebrain » Fri Mar 28, 2008 9:18 am

Hey guys I'm working on an assignment lately and I've run into a bit of trouble around the classes of proteins present within the cell membrane in neurons. From my research so far the channel and signal proteins would be the two major classes but I'm having trouble finding solid information on other major classes. Would anyone be able to point me toward a good reference for information on the subject? I'm currently using Exploring the Brain 3e and Biology 7th Edition but they kind of skim over proteins in the membrane.

Any help much appreciated thanks.
