DNA-binding moleculesExplain how DNA-binding proteins can make sequence specific contacts to a double stranded
DNA molecule without breaking the hydrogen bonds that hold the bases together. Anyone got the answer to this?
when we were discussing DNA-binding proteins a teaching assistant in my molecular bio course gave us the following joke.
"I make naked DNA bend over and insert my beta sheet into its minor groove. Who am I?" though that's not the regular way this takes place, it was very entertaining. "As a biologist, I firmly believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Except for what you live behind in history. That's the only afterlife" - J. Craig Venter
