Do not think your exempt from legal recourse. If someone did follow what you suggested, you could be found liable.
I may seem silly in what I say, but this sort of thing has escalated into lawsuits.
All I am saying is, take care of what you say, even if it is in a joking manner.
Hey, you don't have to cut so deep! ;)
Ok, on a serious note I guess you're correct. It is just that these internet trolls annoy me sometimes. But it still really freaks me out that you even mentioned law suits, because threathening with law suits is just one way to limit the freedom of speech - in this case to blame someone else's saying if you have done stomething stupid yourself (here cut yourself).
I'm not saying you Michael are guilty of threatening me with law suit, but in general this is a very unfortunate phenomenom in today's world. Basically what I'm trying to say is that people should be allowed to express their opinions (even if they are generally disapproved of), make jokes (even if they are bad) or even tell someone to jump off the bridge (even if someone then jumped) - the person who takes action should always be responsible, not someone who just said something. Of course direct orders or blatant lies or misleading instructions told as thruth are exceptions.
But in my case, I declare myself free of all juristical liability, because my "advice" was clearly a) a joke and b) even if it wasn't, someone who did so was completely doing it at their own risk and by free will. [/END OF DISCLAIMER]
Now I'm waiting for goreboy8 to proudly announce that he lashed his artery and that the writ is in the mail. Oh btw, did the blood pressure fall?
goreboy8, we are trying to make you use your logic. Blood pressure is not different from any other type of pressure, which is simply the force/area (think basic physics). Now what happens when a pipe full of water at high pressure bursts? the same thing happens to a large enough cut on your body.
Like Biohazard said in his first response!
If you cut yourself at a epidermal layer, I doubt it would affect BP rates. You would have to cut an artery or a vein to affect bp. With that said, I am sure a cut that caused pain would affect your heart, not because of the change in BP rather your panic level. Which in turn may affect your BP.
It depends on the degree of damage or cut. Certainly our body will compensate for that blood loss. More blood is lost if the cut is big. The body compensates for the gradual decrease in blood volume. The heart rate increases since the heart needs to pump much more just to maintain the normal blood volume and so the BP also increases. Now if the situation won't be given an attention, the blood volume decreases significantly and that could possibly lead to a more life threatening condition which is hypovolemic shock. When BP is obtained, it will be read below the normal level since the compensatory mechanism is no longer able to sustain the necessary blood volume of the body.
