How does the brain realize hunger? Is the physiology? Or is it the digestive system realizing something? If latter then what is "it"?
PS: I happen to be a philosopher, rather than a true scientist...

there are four hormones that control hunger, not only ghrelin. They are insulin, gherlin, leptin and PYY.
