What is the most poisonous snake in da world?Moderator: BioTeam Re:Hi Everyone
Black Mambas are only found in Africa Also I think you should rephrase your question, you should make it " what is the most dangerous sanke ? " Cause then the Black Mamba would be first ! (i.e. the winner) cause when answering such questions, you need to take a couple of factors into account 1) how toxic the venom is 2) Snake Habitat (i.e. does it live close to humans) 3) Amount of venom delivered with a bite 4) Temper of the snake Cause I saw a programe on Nat Geo Wild, and the snake that is most poisonous (i.e. Most Toxic) was not the Black Mamba, it was another snake .. I can't remember which one ! PS. Poisonous sea snakes have a venom more toxic than land snakes. Thanks
Re: What is the most poisonous snake in da world?According to Austin Stevens Boomslang has the most concentrated toxin of all!
Although inland taipan is considered the most poisnous land snake worldwide!
Re: What is the most poisonous snake in da world?I've never seen so many incorrect answers on one thread!
There is a cobra in the Philippines, it is a spitting cobra. The sea snake is the most poisonous snake in the world but not the most deadly, far from the most deadly. It is a non aggressive snake and you have to work at it to get it to bite you. Most bites and death occur in the Philippines from Fisherman tending their nets. It can bite just fine and deliver all the poison it needs too. A small drop will kill a human in minutes. There is anti-venom but your chances of getting to it in time are slim. There is anti-venom for King Cobras. Get it or die. Don't you folks every watch animal planet? If so you'll see King Cobra's milked, something that leaves many people shaking after they do it. I THINK the puff adder is the most dangerous snake because it provides the most bites. It is not likely to back away and it extremely hard to see until it has sank its fangs in you. It is not the most poisonous. As others tried to alluded to, being the most poisonous doesn't make it the most dangerous. The correct name for a viper is pit viper. They have heat sensing pits near their nostrils that detect small changes in heat. Often described as infrared sensing device but I don't think that's really accurate. Its called Jacobson's (SP) organ. Snake bites in the USA are rarely fatal. The coral snake is by far the most poisonous snake in the US but by far the most deadly, probably the least deadly. It doesn't have fangs but teeth at the back of its jaw that provide the poison. Many say it can't bite a human but it can. It would rather dig a hole and disappear and if you ever stumble upon one that is likely what you'll see it do. I had the pleasure of seeing a pair once and they were gone quickly.
wikipedia is also a good place to start

There are really lots of poisonous snakes here and some are endemic and exotic. ---Just one act of random kindness at a time and you can change the world---
One King Cobra bite can kill a elephant in minutes...
And since most animals in the rainforest will do their damned hardest to avoid it, I feel like that's the worst
Taipan are only native to Australia, and there they are the most poisons A scientific man ought to have no wishes, no affections, - a mere heart of stone- Charles Darwin
