about aquatic organism...hi to everyone...can you please help me about the significance to aquatic organisms?
What is the significance to aquatic organisms that the maximal density of water is 4 degrees Celcius? Would aquatic organisms be as abundant if the maximal density was 0 degrees Celcius? thank you very much.....
What do you mean "maximal density of water is 4 degrees Celsius"? Celsius is a unit of temperature, not density. That's like saying a person's weight is 1.85 meters.

I think you should read "the maximum density of water is AT 4ºC"
But I have no idea about the impact of water density on aquatic organisms density. Sorry. Patrick

Oh yeah, the chemistry part of my brain is still on sabbatical after yesterday's midterm. Seems to me that the density would favor the growth of organisms better adapted to living in high water pressure.

As what I remember, scientists had discovered that changes in the water temperature affects the type of marine life that inhabits the area. In some area in the Arctic ocean, marine biologists noted the presence of some species which naturally inhabit warmer waters.
