Organ systemsHi there,
Can anyone help me with these questions on organ systems? 1. "Which of the organ systems are found in both subdivisions of the ventral body cavity?" 2. "Which organ systems are found in the thoracic cavity only?" 3. "Which are found in the abdominopelvic cavity only?" 4. "Why is the thoracic cavity separated from the abdominal cavity?" These were my guesses ... 1. The endocrine system and nervous system 2. Respiratory system 3. Excretory system 4. Because the thoracic and abdominal cavity have different organ system; It needs to operate independently of each other ... Or maybe because a diaphragm is needed for ventilation? Any help will be much appreciated.
Re: Organ systemsYes, it is separated by the diaphragm. But I think the question is asking what the significance of the diaphgram is in separating the two cavities..
For question one, you could include digestive (if esophagus in thorax is enough) and immune system (thymus and spleen). I'm not sure I'd include the nervous system, since there are no organs or structures beyond just nerves in the cavities - but by your definitions, then you'd have to include circulatory. If you consider the liver part of the circulatory system, circulatory could work, though.
