Basics regarding Meiosis!G'day guys.
I need a bit of a hand regarding Meosis. Meosis results in the formation of gametes. Those gametes, as I read, contain the haploid (n) number of chromosomes of the father, in a sperm, and mother, in an ova. My question is, when a father distributes its chromosomes into a sperm, are the chromosomes only of a paternal origin, or they can be either of a maternal/paternal origin through what was given to him by his parents, as in his autosomes. Please give me a hand with that as I am a little confused when they say that each parent contributes a whole set of chromosomes. Thanks in advance.
Don’t feel bad for being confused, it is understandable. Take a look at these links.
