vehicle treated apoptosis

Hi there,

Just wondering, we had Neuro2A cells treated with water and had to count the # or apoptotic cells...technically there should not be any...buuut we had like 5ish..what are sum reasons for this..just spontaneous?

Just plain water? Maybe osmotic shock.

yep...well we had to make incubations with buffer and wash it out then add again etc with a step of adding cresyl violet..so is osmotic shock still the case?

I'm confused. Did you use distilled water or a buffer solution?
