viruses are not organisms. the smallest known organisms are a kind of eubacteria called mycoplasms(from what i know, if you know anything smaller...)

I agree. Viruses aren't organisms because they can't reproduce without the aid of a host. A virus is just a strand of DNA enclosed in a protein capsule.

Some viruses have RNA as their genetic material. I guess it depends on whether or not you feel they are alive to call them organisms. They do have DNA/RNA. They do reproduce, but they have to be in a living cell to do so. The do not have all the characteristics of other living things. However, since they do have the basic necessities of them, I would consider viruses to be organisms.

If we define an organism as a living thing
that is able to live independent of other organisms,
that has a metabolism, and that reproduces with
offspring identical to the parent. I guess the
smallest organisms would be bacteria.

However, when you include organisms that live as
parasites on, or in, others, then viruses are
included, and these are much smaller than bacteria. Viruses are built of RNA (or DNA) wrapped in proteins. They have different shapes and sizes.

Haemophilus influenzae (it was once thought to cause influenza) is among the smallest bacteria: 0.2–0.3 by 0.5–2.0 micrometers.

Next me one small human animal of total 6,564,499,243 of world.

Wow. So small man...If there are humans with this kind of size, the world would be in chaos. Haha. But I know this is impossible.

it has been recently discovered (by a spanish) a smaller than mycoplasma organism, it is an organism asociated to acarus, I don't know it's name.
