Slugs in Acetone

Postby Condraz23 » Tue Dec 19, 2006 3:05 am

Hey everyone.

What would happen to a slug if it was drowned in a bottle of industry-grade acetone? Would the same apply if the slug was drowned in water or alcohol?

Thanks.

Acetone is a flammable liquid.

So, I guess that if the slug is drowned in acetone, it should burn in flames...=)

The result for the slug in acetone and water or alcohol will not be the same.

And alcochol is not flamable?

Probably not much different than the alcochol drowning but in water it will stay soft since alcochol rigids the muscles, especialy if its high concentracion. But if you leave slug in water it will decompose since water is no preservant.
