OMG PLEASE HELP.. QUESTIONS FOR FINAL...

Hey ummm if you could please help me answer some questions so i can study for my final and not fail.. umm there 20 questions so if anyone can help me please cause i have no idea what the answers are... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me. Thank you so much :D

ummm heres the first question...
1)k it shows a picture of this x thing..and asks..
refer to the illustration above. identify the structure in the diagram and discuss its importance during eukaryatic cell division...

anyone know??

crossing over is a process in which DNA fragments are exchange btween homologus chromosome.
in meiosisI.
Thus genetic infomation is exchanged and mixed with new genetic information and that causes variation in next generation.

X is chromosome with it's sister chromatid and that occurs due to DNA replication before cell division. And it helps in keeping chromosomal number constant in daughter cell....

beacause all the results of selfing and hybridisation experiments were relative to each other thats why.....
